Lydia Women's Empowerment Ministries Fashion Show - June 9, 2007 The Women of the Lydia Women's Empowerment Ministry spent the three months learning the fine art of sewing exhibited their new skills in this show. The purpose of learning to sew has been not only to increase a skill that binds together women and thereby families and the community, but the women of the Lydia Ministry are also using their skill to begin an entrepreneurial venture. The new business, run by the women, is to design and produce liturgical textiles, including spiritual space banners, spirit clothing and clergy stoles, examples of which were on display at the fashion show.
