Nia-Imani Youth & Family Development Center The purpose of Kwanzaa’s Nia-Imani Youth and Family Development Center is to increase the productive capacity of African American families in the Hawthorne/ Jordan neighborhoods. Developing youth as leaders within their families is stressed. We strive to nurture the next generation of African American leaders in our communities by engaging youth and their families in meaningful, celebratory, empowering, cultural, spiritual, and educational activities.
